Artist Statement:

This was the hardest project for me so far. Animating is something that scares me but I liked the challenge. I knew I wanted to do something involving horror because that's my favorite theme. At first, I wanted many of my friends involved with the projects but schedules weren't lined up. I also wanted it to be somewhat satirical and comedic like Scary Movie. I believe I accomplished this since the class laughed. I thought the animation scenes were going to be long till after hours of animation it only ended up being like 30 seconds all in total. Filming the scene was really fun because I had a layout of what I wanted to do but once I finished filming I had more fun ideas to add to it. It definitely was a learning lesson that will help me in the future. I like that my dogs were random extras. I also got to incorporate my digital drawing skills which were very fun. I also found the audio editing with the sound effects and music was very fun and interesting. What I would've changed for next time was trying to incorporate a greenscreen so the monsters I would animate would look better incorporated in the scene.
