Dream SoundScape

Artist Statement:
I liked my soundscape. I believe I conveyed my message of someone walking from their home past a busy street into the woods to waking up from a dream. I started with the sounds of someone walking downstairs with heavy boots on then a zip of a coat then out a creaky door they went. From there on at first, I just added nature sounds but I realized I wanted it to make it sound like they traveled to a certain nature spot. So I added sounds of traffic and walking. As well as light bird chirps. Also sniffing to convey that it may be chilly out. Once I felt like the timing was right the traffic noise stopped and not too soon after crunching on leaves while walking came into effect. I turned up the bird chirps and added another bird sound that sounded like it was flying around. I also added more sniffling and windy sounds. eventually, I edited out all the bird noises. I did this to show that something was a miss. That even all the animals had to stop going about their day. I wish I would've stopped the walking sound with this to show more of a pause. Then I added a second set of footsteps being heard but in the critique, it didn't sound too well. Eventually, it all stopped to the sound of someone shuffling in a bed to snoring and crickets. My piece is to tell a story of a simple scary dream that someone was following you.
